Currently I am training at Drysdale Jiu-Jitsu, under BJJ Black Belt Robert Drysdale, Co-Founder of the Zenith BJJ Team, in Las Vegas Nevada. I have been training here for the past three and a half months and I love it, learning many new techniques and I am currently working extensively on my judo and wrestling.
While looking for a new place to train when I first moved here, I remember feeling very excited. To me, it was a chance to grow as a person and as an athlete.
As quoted here from my last blog, I felt that it was the right time to move because I could only grow and go so far in Hawaii. Hawaii didn't offer many career opportunities for me and it was too expensive to pursue outside interests for myself and my family. Las Vegas has provided our me with many opportunities for work and developing as a complete grappler. Another benefit of the move is that competing is much easier financially for myself and my sponsors. My current competition goals are just to get out there and start competing more at this level.
My next competition will be with the Jiu-Jitsu World League on November 18th. I am excited to showcase what I've learned the these past few months!
As far as longer Jiu-Jitsu competition goals go, in the next five years I see myself competing amongst the best in the world and hopefully one day meeting my goal of being a Jiu-Jitsu World Champion.
